Located in an ancient palazzo in the town know for its extraordinary castle, Rocca Calacio, the museum takes the form of a sequence of thematic installations, each with its own distinctive character. These are designed both to provide focus and in-depth exploration of specific features of the local area, and to present them through the most appropriate narrative and interactive devices.
In this way, the museum’s compact size expands into a series of distinct experiences, offering surprises and new modes of interaction in each room, all within a coherent storyline.
Within this variety of installations, a recurring element helps to weave a common thread that also extends beyond the museum’s galleries: the reinterpretation of the frame, used to enclose the monitors and transform them into museal objects, quite literally “framing” the digital content on display. The same motif of the frame is also employed to highlight and enhance non-digital exhibits and disseminated in the surroundings to extend the museum beyond its own walls.
